Silverstone Marketing Masterclass

Students from Mereway are undertaking the Marketing Challenge as I write. Jonny is discussing legal and ethical  issues  with them right now.  They are due to present their strategies in about 40 minutes time and they seem  pretty unfazed by the prospect. Looking forward to this set of pitches.

NSG students have produced some great ideas and worked well as teams to produce some interesting and effective strategies. Here is an animoto slideshow of them in action. We await the presentations with anticipation!

Students from the Northampton Academy are here with us today to take the Silverstone marketing challenge. As part of their strategy, teams will have to produce an elevator pitch. They will be recorded live below for later evaluation.

This season’s opening Marketing Masterclass took place last Wednesday. The students from Kingsthorpe had already divided themselves into business teams back at school and had clearly carried out some research as well. Here is an Animoto flavour of Kingsthorpe’s marketing teams!

All teams came up with some great ideas and generally managed to present them in an engaging manner to the Silverstone representatives. Some of the teams took a grilling from opposition teams as well, particularly on issues relating to the costings of project ideas. Being absolutely clear on the cost of a strategy is crucial to the success or failure or a pitch. Future teams - you have been warned!

The winning team, TeenGP, impressed the judges because they demonstrated a blend of creative ideas with sound budgetary costing that made for a realistic and potentially achievable strategy.

Congratulations to all the teams! You were a credit to your school!

Kingsthorpe College students are the first to brave the the Marketing Masterclass this season. Are they ready for the challenge? Only time (and this blog) will tell!

Marketing Day Schedule

We are putting the finishing touches to the Marketing Masterclass sessions that are due to take place during November and December 2007. The flyer will be going out to Northampton schools towards the end of this week. This site will slowly begin to take shape over the coming weeks.
